Description of the project
The objective of VALID is to create test platforms and hybrid methodologies as a case study with different wave energy technologies to accelerate the development of these technologies. Real-time hybrid tests combine numerical simulation effectiveness with experimental analysis realism. Combining the virtual and physical environment in the product development process will address scale challenges and reduce uncertainty. This test strategy will allow a correlation to be established between laboratory conditions and the open sea, thus moving towards common testing procedures and the technological convergence of the wave energy sector in Europe.
VALID results can be viewed and downloaded on the project website.
