Description of the project
The Government’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan elaborates a roadmap for the modernisation of the Spanish economy, the recovery of economic growth and job creation, strong, inclusive and resilient economic reconstruction following the COVID-19 crisis and the response to the challenges of the next decade. This plan will be funded from funds such as the Next Generation EU Resilience and Recovery Mechanism.
This Plan includes public support for unique scientific and technical infrastructures managed by the Ministry of Science and Innovation. BiMEP, as a member of ICTS-MARHIS, has received support for the acquisition of a scanning lidar system. The objective of this action is to increase the scientific and technological capacity of BiMEP as a test field for floating wind power devices. In particular, scanning lidar enables accurate knowledge of wind characteristics at different heights, paying particular attention to the vertical speed profile and directions to the rotor height of a floating turbine.
