Blue-GIFT is running the third and final call for applications to test and validate marine renewable energy (MRE) technologies in real sea environments that will close on the 23rd of April 2021 at 17:00 UTC.
Funded by Interreg Atlantic Area, Blue-GIFT project, is helping technology developers test their MRE devices in the Atlantic Area test sites: BiMEP (Basque Country, Spain), PLOCAN (Canary Island, Spain), SEENEOH (Bordeaux, France) and WavEC (Aguçadoura, Portugal).
Are you a developer of floating offshore wind, wave or tidal energy or working with floating solar technology? This is your last opportunity to get involved in this project and perform low cost tests at these Atlantic Area areas test sites.
So far, the Blue-Gift project has supported four companies to deploy their devices in real sea conditions at test sites in the Atlantic Area including: Arrecife, Design Pro Renewables, Wave Piston and RW Power.
More technology developers will deploy in the coming months using Blue-Gift support, but a few vouchers are still available. If you want to be part of the Blue-Gift success story and test your device, get in touch about Call 3

Which test centres can you apply to?
• BiMEP (wave and floating wind) in the Basque Country, Spain;
• PLOCAN (wave and floating wind) in Gran Canaria, Spain;
• SEENEOH (tidal) in Bordeaux, France;
• WavEC (wave and floating wind test centre) in Aguçadoura, Portugal.
Whilst not eligible for applications within the Blue-GIFT programme, the project also includes three additional ocean energy test facilities who are contributing to the project with technical expertise:
• EMEC (wave and tidal) in Orkney, UK (Blue-GIFT lead partner);
• BlueWise Marine representing SmartBay Test Site (wave and floating wind) from Galway, Ireland;
• Centrale Nantes / SEM-REV (wave and floating wind) in Nantes, France. Who can apply? Blue-GIFT is open to any type of enterprise wishing to demonstrate ocean energy technologies being tested or validated.
