FLOATING LABORATORY FOR RESEARCHING ANTI-CORROSION MATERIALS AND SOLUTIONS
HarshLab is the first floating laboratory in Europe researching new developments for the offshore environment.
It is moored at the BIMEP test site, 1.8 miles out to sea in an area with a sea depth of 65m. This location ensures 100% offshore trial conditions, perfect for assessing new materials and solutions against corrosion, ageing and fouling.
In this first version of the laboratory, up to 765 test standardised test-pieces and components can be evaluated in the splash zone, immersion zone and atmospheric zone.
